Our Services in Pinewood Estates, TX

Pinewood Estates is a residential community in Hardin County just south of Lumberton, about thirteen miles from us. It sits in the wooded stretch between Beaumont and the Big Thicket, close enough to town to be a short run and far enough to have tree cover that town does not. We cover it as part of our regular Hardin County work, open Monday through Sunday, 24 hours.

Trees Over Sewer Lines

The pines that give this community its character are also the main reason we get sewer calls here. Root systems are extensive and they take the easiest moisture available. A sewer joint that has separated even slightly is easier than surrounding soil, and older clay or cast iron runs have a joint every few feet. The pattern is recognizable. The line backs up, gets cleared, and backs up again a few months later, because clearing removes the mass without closing the opening. A high water table across this part of Hardin County means roots do not have to work hard, and heavier tree cover means more of them are looking. The way to stop repeating the cycle is a camera run. If roots are entering at one identifiable defect, repairing it ends the problem. If an old run is failing at several joints, that is a different decision and it deserves real information rather than a guess.

Slab Homes on Moving Clay

The houses here are slab-on-grade, and the ground under them is the same expansive Gulf Coast clay that runs across the region. It swells with moisture and shrinks in dry stretches, several times a year. The slab rides that movement and the pipe cast underneath goes along with it. Supply lines abrade where copper meets concrete, and eventually a pinhole opens. Because supply is pressurized, that leak runs continuously from the moment it starts, and it washes soil out from under the foundation the whole time. The early signs are a water bill that stepped up and stayed there, a warm patch on the floor meaning a hot line, or the sound of running water with everything shut off. One check costs nothing and settles it quickly. Turn off everything that uses water and watch the meter. If it is still moving, water is going somewhere it should not.

Freeze Exposure and Storm History

Uri split supply lines across this area in 2021, and the pattern was consistent. Garages, unconditioned utility spaces, attics and anything running along an exterior wall. Some of that damage did not present for months, because a partially split line can hold for a long time before it opens. Harvey and Imelda both put water into low ground along the creek bottoms in this part of the county. A gas water heater that was submerged has to be replaced rather than repaired, and sewer lines that took on silt during flooding frequently still carry it. Insulating exposed lines is inexpensive and it is the most useful thing to do before the next hard freeze. Confirming that your main shutoff actually turns is the other.

Pinewood Estates FAQ

How far out are you from Pinewood Estates?
About thirteen miles, from Beaumont. We cover it alongside Lumberton, Kountze and Silsbee, and we are open Monday through Sunday, 24 hours.
Why do roots keep coming back into my line?
Because clearing removes the root mass and leaves the opening they came through. Heavy tree cover plus a high water table means they will find it again. A camera inspection shows whether one repairable defect is responsible or several joints along an aging run.
Can I check for a slab leak myself?
Yes, partly. Shut off every fixture and appliance that uses water, then watch the meter. If it keeps turning, something is leaking. That does not tell you where, but it tells you whether to make the call, and it costs nothing.
Do you come out at night?
Yes. We are open Monday through Sunday, 24 hours. Sewage backups and burst supply lines are the two that come in overnight most often, and neither improves by waiting.
