Our Services in Liberty, TX

Liberty is the seat of Liberty County, an old town on the Trinity River about forty miles west of us, and one of the oldest settlements in Texas. That age is the interesting thing about its plumbing. A town with genuinely historic housing has pipe in the ground that predates most of what we work on in the Golden Triangle, and the river gives it a set of conditions the inland towns do not share. We are open Monday through Sunday, 24 hours.

Old Town, Old Pipe

Historic housing is a real category, not a marketing description, and it changes what is behind the wall. In houses old enough, supply lines are galvanized and drains are cast iron or clay tile, and both have been in service long enough that failure is the expected condition rather than the surprise. Galvanized corrodes inward until the effective diameter is a fraction of the original. It happens slowly, households adapt, and the loss only registers when someone compares it to a house that was repiped. Hot lines close first. Cast iron scales inside and thins outside. Clay sewer tile has a joint every few feet, and every joint is a candidate for separation and root entry. Older houses also frequently carry multiple generations of work, where sections were replaced at various points by various people. Transitions between materials and eras are where odd behavior comes from, and understanding what is actually installed is worth more than guessing from the year on the deed.

River Ground and Seasonal Movement

Liberty sits on the Trinity, and river ground behaves in particular ways. The water table is high near the river and soil stays wet longer, which keeps the expansive Gulf Coast clay in its swollen state for extended periods and then contracts it sharply when a dry stretch finally arrives. That cycle is what moves sewer lines out of grade, producing bellies that hold standing water and clog on a schedule. It separates joints, which lets roots and groundwater in. And it moves slabs, which abrades the water lines cast underneath them. Flooding compounds all of it. Harvey put considerable water through Liberty County in 2017 and Imelda came through in 2019. Each event overwhelmed drainage, pushed sewage back into buildings, deposited silt in lines, and submerged mechanical equipment. A gas water heater that went under has to be replaced, regardless of whether it still lights. Uri added freeze damage in 2021 on top of everything else.

What the Distance Means

Liberty is about forty miles from us, near the western boundary of our service area, and it is worth being plain about the implications. Scheduled work is unaffected. Sewer camera inspections, slab leak location and repair, water heater replacement, repiping and diagnostic work all happen on an agreed day and the drive is our concern. Emergencies are different. At two in the morning, a plumber based closer will arrive sooner, and we are not going to claim otherwise. What limits damage in the meantime is shutting the water off at the main, which is why finding that valve and confirming it turns is worth doing before you need it. We are open Monday through Sunday, 24 hours, and when you call we will tell you our realistic timing rather than a number designed to keep you on the phone.

Liberty FAQ

Is Liberty in your service area?
Yes, at about forty miles it is near the western edge of it. Scheduled work is straightforward. For an overnight emergency we will give you an honest arrival estimate when you call, and tell you to shut the main off in the meantime.
My house is genuinely old. What is likely to be wrong with the plumbing?
Galvanized supply lines corroded inward, cast iron or clay drains at the end of their life, and frequently several generations of partial replacement work connected together. Declining pressure, discolored first-draw water and hot noticeably weaker than cold all point at the supply side. Recurring backups point at the drain side.
Why does my sewer line clog on a schedule?
Because it has a defect rather than bad luck. Near the river the usual causes are a belly from ground movement in saturated soil, a separated joint, or roots entering through one. Clearing works until the same condition produces the same blockage. A camera inspection identifies which one you have.
Do you handle flood damaged plumbing?
Yes, and there are two things worth checking after any flood. Whether the sewer line took on silt that never flushed out, which a camera confirms. And whether any gas water heater was submerged, because a submerged unit has to be replaced even if it still lights.
